Global Warming Facts

Global Warming, a phenomenon we have all feared but been confused about for years now. An odd reaction to a serious problem, but it remains only because not all of us have all the facts on this environmental problem we must face for years to come. There are at least 10 things we must all know about Global Warming, but most of us can’t even name two. So what are these facts? And how will they help us better understand what the future holds for us?
The First thing we should all remember is that Human Beings are the culprits behind Global Warming. This is the conclusion of Intergovernmental Panel on climate change. This panel included scientists of course but also government officials from 40 countries including the US. They came to this conclusion through the use of predictive models which agree with the observed temperatures.
We should also remember that the 11 out of 12 years were the hottest in temperature ever recorded. This survey is recorded as far back as 1850, trailing along way back stating this is in fact a current problem with our planet. The last 50 years have had what can only be called unusual temperatures of the last 1300 years.
One thing we as Humans should be disgusted in is the fact that we are dumping about 1000 tons of CO2 per second in the atmosphere. A horrid number, and prove at how bad we treat our planet. It has been stated that most of this population is from burning fossil fuels.
The current levels of green house gases are the highest they’ve been in over 650,000 years is one thing we should take into consideration. It’s been reported its 35% higher than pre industrial levels, this dramatic change has been caused by humans.
Global warming has been known to produce severe weather and rising seas. With the temperature of the oceans rising a cause and effect of the sea level rising takes place. To a seemingly unpredictable rate throughout the last 3000 years.
The devastation isn’t over; Global Warming conditions are predicted to get exponentially worse. It’s the general census that by the year 2100 the global temperature will rise another 2 degrees making it 11 degrees F. Mass heat waves are among the predicted conditions.
The conditions of the year 2100 are to affect millions of Human Beings. From the cause of floods, inhabitable land is set to decease. With added pressures of disease, and lack of water.
25% of the world’s species could be lost due to these results. In the next fifty years it’s predicted we will lose over 1 million animal and plant species due to Global problems.
The one fact we should all keep embedded in our brain is that it’s too late to stop Global Warming but not too late to limit it. People might not realize that it’s too late until they are wakesurfing in the North Pole. Even Sports Illustrated is worrying about sports being affected by global warming. Studies show that limiting green house gases, even the most sinister conditions can be prevented.
How did our planet come to this? We have damaged ourselves with our own habits, but it’s never too late for change. We are the makers of our future, only we can change the planet.
